Sarah is the 2020 Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. She has been a Club member for three and a half years.
Sarah serves as the secretary of her Keystone Club, in which teens strengthen their leadership skills and carry out community service projects. She is also an active member of the Speech and Debate Club.
[My] dedication and the youth center’s positivity lead me to further go after my passion of helping today’s youth who are dealing with mental illness. It’s by helping support and guide these youth today, much like how my center has done for me, that we are able to see a brighter future for tomorrow. – Sarah
Last year, Sarah logged 240 volunteer hours reading to kids at her local hospital, helping with fundraising events, assisting staff at the Club, and more.
After graduation, Sarah plans to study biology at the University of Washington, with hopes of becoming an orthodontist.
